Return Policy

Instruments and Amplifiers:

Mail order: instruments and/or amps have a two-day approval period. If the instrument/amp is to be returned, customer must call Gryphon within 48 hours of receiving it, and item(s) must be shipped back to Gryphon by the third business day. Customer must ship UPS or Fed Ex prepaid, using the same service as when received, (example: overnight, 2 day, 3 day or ground). Pack carefully! Any instrument/amp shipped on approval, and its carrying case, must remain in factory original condition when returned, including all instructions, warranties and tags. If used, item must be in same condition as when shipped. After Gryphon receives the returned item, we will refund the purchase price, excluding outbound shipping. There is a 2% restocking/processing fee if the item is returned (this fee is waived if payment is made by bank wire, PayPal or cashier's check).

In store: customer has 48 hours to return the instrument for a full refund. If returned after 48 hours, but within 7 days, the customer will receive a store credit.

Other Stuff:

Accessories: customer must return items for a full refund within 10 business days of the original date of purchase. No returns after 10 days. Item must include original packaging and sales receipt. Original factory packaging must be in perfect condition (don't tear open the packaging!)

Music books: due to strict copyright laws, all music books and book sales are final, so please make your selection carefully. If an item is defective or damaged it will be exchanged for the same title.

CD's and DVD's: must be returned within 10 days, unopened, and include sales receipt for a full refund. If you receive a CD or DVD that is genuinely defective, you may return it for a replacement. You must tell us exactly what and where the defect is – for example, “skips on the third song at 2:33”. Please choose your merchandise carefully.

Special orders: a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required. Approval period does not apply to special orders. Special orders are considered SOLD when they arrive, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by both Gryphon and the customer. Any such special arrangement must be in writing.

Layaways: the layaway term is 30 days. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required. If you change your mind about the instrument or can’t make the final payment the deposit will be used as store credit.

The Gryphon Advantage

posted Jul 07, 2014
One of the things that makes Gryphon special is something, or someplace, most people never see: our repair department. Before we put an instrument out for sale, we set it up for optimum playability. We guarantee that you will have an instrument that will play correctly. If we can't adjust it, we will not sell it. Our six full time technicians stand behind that guarantee. They can also repair and modify your instrument in the future. If you purchased it here, you will get a 25% discount on labor.

The Latest Book with Richard

posted Nov 27, 2013

Here has been another in-depth review of the book in the March issue of Bluegrass Unlimited.

You can read it online here.

Richard wrote 5 of the 11 chapters. Gryphon supplied many of the photos and provided the 1860s Harp guitar profiled in the book.

You can buy a copy at the Gryphon online store!

At your request, Richard will be happy to sign it!
