Grant Groberg
(Mon. thru Fri.) After a 10-year hiatus chasing chickens in the Ozarks of Missouri, Grant has returned to the Bay Area. He helps us out by wielding the camera, geeking the web site and dripping paint on the carpet.

Colin Sutton
(Mon. thru Fri.) Colin is our apprentice photography guy, data entry guy and all about handy guy to have around. He plays all kinds of instruments and has an unflagging enthusiasm for just about everything.

Tom Culbertson
(Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) is our most versatile musician. Since he plays classical guitar, old-time fiddle, and a bit of folk harp, he's in charge of those three departments. Tom also plays Travis-style (fingerpicking) guitar, mandolin, and banjo. |

Matt Lynch
(Mon. through Sat. except Wed.) After working for Saga Musical Instruments for a couple of years, Gryphon was lucky enough to acquire Matt in the summer of 2005. In addition to being really knowledgeable about the Saga line, Matt is also a Telecaster fanatic and the lone NASCAR fan at the shop! |

Paul Jacobs
Paul can be found here Tuesday & Wednesday evenings as well as Saturdays. He plays guitar, mandolin dobro and lap steel. You can see him plays out regularly with his band, Earthquake Country. Paul was born and raised in the South Bay area and has been hosting a weekly bluegrass and blues radio program on KKUP since 1980. |

Derek Cullimore
Derek is another of our multi-faceted employees. He currently works Monday through Saturday, taking Fridays off. Derek is familiar with all kinds of acoustic music gear as well as vintage guitars. He plays in the band Careless Hearts and is also a contributor to the Fretboard Journal, Acoustic Guitar as well as other publications. In these guises he uses the Nom de Plume Derek See. Phil Campbell
(Tue. thru Thu.) Phil is helping us out three days a week. When not helping customers at Gryphon, Phil (www.PhilCampbellGuitar.com) is a performer and a teacher of guitar, mandolin and piano. He performs with the band Hobbyhorse, Phil also has an internet radio station RadioGuitar.com, dedicated to instrumental acoustic guitar music.

Ford
Frank is
here every day but Thursday and Tuesday. He is one
of Gryphon's Founding Flounders, and heads our Service
Department. Frank has over 30 years experience repairing
guitars, mandolins, and banjos, and teaches specialized
repair classes at seminars and schools across the
country. For a glimpse into what he's been doing,
check the FRETS.com website, but be sure to leave
yourself lots of time, as some folks logs onto FRETS
and disappear for days! |

Brian
graduated from the Roberto-Vennn School of Lutherie.
He enjoys playing electric guitar and bass as well as building
them from scratch at his home based shop. He has composed and performed in the hard-rock
genre, but enjoys all styles of music, from Styx'
early work, all the way up to their latest album.
He is here every day but Friday. |

Alex Crossed the continent to work his craft here at Gryphon. He was trained at the Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie and has worked at Santa Cruz Guitar Company. Alex work on all walks of instruments and is quickly becoming our "go to" guy for ukuleles. |

Benjamin Redwood
(Mon. thru
Fri. except Wed.) From the jungles of Arizona, Benjamin came to our attention via the Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie. We convinced him to relocate to our more temperate environment. Though he misses the gila monsters that he used to feed outside of his back door, he seems to have adjuisted well and is having a thrilling time working on the guitars that come through our doors. |
