Santa Cruz Custom OM Cutaway, Koa/German

The big deal about this SCGC OM is the top, because it's German spruce that Frank and Richard bought in the 1969 or '70 when Gryphon Stringed Instruments was just two guys building guitars, mandolins, and banjo necks, and doing a lot of repairs. The top has been stashed in the attic ever since. When combined with the figured koa on the back and sides, the result is an "old guitar sound" that has to be heard to be believed. Other details are gold Waverly tuners, a Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay, and polished neck finish. Standard long (25.4 inch) scale, with 1 3/4 inch neck.
