New Collings "Baby"
This instrument is NOT in stock.
It is an example of a Collings instrument that we have had
in the past.
You can check our inventory
for a similar instrument or call us and we'll do our best
to get a similar model for you.
Seems everyone is making a "baby" guitar these
days, though some are called parlor models. But Mr. Bill
Collings does it differently, and the result is a small,
short-scale steel-string you'll actually WANT to play, even
when your larger guitars are close at hand.
The photo below shows the Collings Baby next to a Collings
OM-1, and as you can see, the scale length is the same as
what you get when you put a capo at the first fret of a
typical long-scale guitar.
Gryphon has long been the leader in Collings Baby sales
(we've sold two dozen, despite not being able to get them
for over two years), and this one is another in a long line
of little Collings guitars that had to be heard to be believed.
A vintage "Geib-style" hardshell case in included,
and yes, you can get these into the cabin of a commercial
airline flight. Turn that next boring business trip into
a chance to get caught up on all the guitar playing you
never do when you travel with a guitar that has the right
size, and an appealing price, but sounds so awful you wind
up watching the hotel room TV when you could be practicing!
