Original Vega Whyte Laydie #2 5-string banjo

Original finish throughout, and original hardware except for the tailpiece. Quite a bit of wear to the finish on the neck and edges of the headstock, with some discoloration as shown. Some scratches and brass showing on the bracket band, and although the tension hoop has better plating, it does have the small etched "Goetz" name matching the similar sized marking on the heel of the neck. A few of the hooks have lost lots of plating, while most are quite good, and the same can be said for the nuts, but all are Vega and match in style. Original frets, and the neck is quite straight. The plating and condition of the Whyte Laydie tone ring is excellent, and the laminations in the shell are all tight. Serial number puts this circa 1921.

Neck: Maple
Scale Length: 27 inches
Binding: ivoroid on neck, tortoiseshell celluloid on rim
Tuners: original friction pegs, including 5th peg, and they work!
Case: New TKL hardshell with arched top
