Gibson c. 1933-36 L-00
Is it mint, never-been-worked on, and shiny perfect? Nope!
Is it a solid L-00 that looks cool and is ready for years
of service? Certainly. Here's the scoop: Original finish everywhere,
with no signs of overspray or touch-up. Original gears and
pickguard. Bridge has been replaced with an ebony version
shaped pretty much like the original. Has been refretted,
frets are in great condition but the rosewood fingerboard
still shows some finger dents behind the first three frets.
No top cracks, but there is considerable chipping of the finish
around the bridge. Back seam shows through the finish above
the neck and tail block, but is not open. One long back crack,
repaired and solid but obvious, as shown. Wear to the neck
finish is also pictured. The bridge plate has been replaced
with a larger version, and the bridge is low due to a shallow
neck angle, but the guitar is very playable, with moderate
action. If you want slinky action like a new Taylor this guitar
would need a neck reset. The case is a newish TKL with green
lining.
