1942 Martin 000-21
Here's a remarkably original pre WWII (well, pre the END
of WWII) Martin 000-21 that's lived in California all its
life. The only work done on it was done here at Gryphon, by
Frank Ford and his crew of clever repair-elves. It's original
throughout, including tuners, bridge, nut, and pickguard (saddle
and bridge pins have been replaced). Neck reset and refret,
with a nicely matched repair in the lower side where there
had been an old jack hole from a hard-wired De Armond soundhole
pickup. There's some wear to the soundhole edges from the
pickup still showing, plus some wear through the top finish
just above the pickguard. A fair amount of light surface scratches
are speckled throughout the rest of the original finish, with
some typical nicks and small gouges thrown in, but overall
a very handsome and original example.
