1920 Gibson A-3 White Face
Gibson only offered the white face option on its mandolins
for a few years (and only on the A-3 and a few F-2 models),
and most of them have yellowed dramatically or show significant
wear through the fragile color coat, and so aren't very attractive.
This one has a few nicks and dings to the top, but the color
is still quite nice and the whole mandolin has a lovely patina.
All the parts are original, including the ivoroid pickguard,
tuners, bridge, tailpiece and tailpiece cover, nut, frets,
and the original hardshell case is equally clean. It also
sounds good, and would look absolutely stunning if you ever
play in formal wear, especially in a tux!
