Strunal is a great first guitar for the beginner and a good value for the price. Strunals are sturdy, stay in tune, easy to play and they sound surprisingly good. Nylon strings are easy on your hands so you can make all your chord shapes and practice longer without wearing out your fingers. Strunals are built in the Czech Republic.
Strunal guitars come in a range of fractional sizes (1/4 size through 4/4 size) to fit players of all ages and sizes. A rough guideline is:
Age Player Height Guitar Size
4 to 6 3’0” to 3’9” 1/4
5 to 8 3’3” to 4’5” 1/2
8 to 11 4’0” to 4’11” 3/4
11 to 99 4’10” to 7’11” 7/8 or 4/4
Fractional size guitars are great for children because they fit small hands more comfortably which makes practice sessions a lot more rewarding and fun. Fractional size guitars are also good for adults with smaller hands or for anyone who wants a small guitar for traveling or to keep in a small space (e.g. an office or a sailboat).
