1957 Gibson ES-175 D Natural (original lefthanded)

In 1957, Gibson ledgers show a total of 175 blonde ES-175D guitars built; while the ledgers do not show how many were built as a lefty, I would go out on a limb and speculate that this is possibly the only one of its kind built in 1957.

With the exception of changed pickguard and tuners (of the early 1980's Japanese Kluson style variety), this guitar is quite original. As it is an early '57, the PAF's do not have PAF stickers as is period correct. The original solder joints are untouched leaving no doubt as to the originality of the pickups and wiring.

The entire body of the guitar may have had a VERY light overspray and buff at some point a long time ago, but it is only obvious on the back. The guitar was also professionally refretted with wider frets. It is our opinion that, considering the rarity of the guitar and the extremely high quality of the repair work, that most will not flinch in dismissal of such a fine and scarce instrument. After all; how many other opportunities would a left handed player have to find another early PAF, blonde ES-175? Not many, if any, we reckon.
