Frank is one of Gryphon's Founding Flounders, and heads our repair dept. He has over 45 years experience repairing and restoring guitars, mandolins,banjos and ukes. He's also an encyclopedia of musical instrument knowledge, from how they're made, and how they break to how to make them whole and functional again. Frank teaches repair clinics and seminars at lutherie schools and workshops around the country, and designs and builds tools and fixtures for the repair industry in his home machine shop.
For a glimpse into what he's been doing, check the FRETS.com website, but be sure to leave yourself lots of time as some folks logs onto FRETS and disappear for days! Despite a demanding schedule, Frank trades his chisel for a shovel quite often and with his wife, Joy, grows fantastic veggies in one of Palo Alto's community gardens.
