How Many frets do you really need?
A number of 12-fret guitars have made their way through our doors and if you love this earlier style you have never seen such a wonderful and wide selection here before. We have them from Collings, Martin, Huss & Dalton, Bourgeois, Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Recording King, Goodall, National... All of our favorite makers. As I write this there are no less than 14 Acoustic Guitars and 11 Resonator versions.

There is nothing like a fun new toy to play with. My heart jumped as I opened the case on this guy. The attractive three-tone sunburst sprayed by Dana Bourgeois himself seems to jump at you upon first glance. This guitar design has become synonymous with Bourgeois guitars due to the popularity of the Banjo Killer model.

The more time I spend with this guitar, the more I question my theory that Dreadnoughts do not make ideal fingerstyle guitars. I tend to think "D" size guitars project too much bass and volume for fingerstyle. This guitar has a very focused and tight sound similar to what you would get out of a smaller bodied instrument. Please don't misunderstand me. This monster could keep up with most aggressive flatpicker and the heaviest rhythm player.

We are just tickled to death that we have the opportunity to sell Bourgeois Guitars, and this beauty is a prime example of why we feel that way.

A while back we wrote about Derek spending some time at the Taylor Guitar factory. We mentioned how he hand selected wood for some special guitars that we were having made. The first one has arrived and it is a doozy!

Quilted maple back and sides with an Englemann spruce top. It has a full body Amber burst. This guitar is not only gorgeous it sounds great too!
