1995 Megas Athena 18-inch 7-string Archtop Guitar Used
This Athena was custom ordered in 1995 and it is one of a small number of 18-inch, 7-string guitars Ted Megas has crafted over the years. Although it's a big guitar it's more playable than many 7-string models because of the 25-inch string scale. This guitar is fully acoustic and has a rich, robust tone. Thanks to its size, the low, seventh strings really stands out. It’s fitted with Kent Armstrong floating pickup. There are no cracks but this did get played quite a lot and there's various little nicks and dings to the top plus some slight lacquer checking. The neck angle and string action are both excellent. Note that it comes with a special Calton case (from the Calgary era), and the mother-of-pearl nut is a nice touch. It doesn't appear that any parts of this Megas were ever changed, not even a strap button was added as the player was always seated.
