Details
The "Hound Dog" trademark was used on the least expensive Dobro models off and on for several years. O.M.I. (Original Musical Instruments) kept the price low by not bothering to put celluloid binding on the body, for instance, and by using a maple fretboard instead of rosewood. These changes have no impact on the sound or playability, especially since you never touch the fingerboard when playing a squareneck Dobro anyway. This example is exceptionally clean and has just light surface wear to the original thin lacquer finish. It's original throughout, and offers a really cool hound dog's head decal on the face of the headstock, with the same decal used on higher models on the back side. Sounds great, and gives you a chance to get a real deal Dobro, made in Southern California, for not much more than you'd pay for an import version.
