The Loar-era A2Z has almost mythical status among fans of Gibson's A-model mandolins, and the powerful bass response on this example will remind you why. Of course it also has the truss rod and same narrow neck as the Lloyd Loar F-5, two features missing from all those earlier A models from the 'teens. This example has seen a lot of use, but the original varnish on the body has survived while much of the finish on the neck has been played through to the mahogany. One tight top crack near the tailpiece has been glued, the back was slightly loose from the sides (also near the tailpiece) but that's been glued as well It has its original tuners, tailpiece, pickguard and bridge. Includes the original hardshell case.
