Details
Thanks to the mahogany neck and body, plus some body contours, this early reissue of the legendary Flying V weighs in at a shoulder-friendly 8 lbs. The red lacquer has lots of metallic sheen, to us it looks like Candy Apple red but whatever.... most of these were given a natural finish.
There's the usual lacquer crazing, note that it spent a lot of time hanging so there are deep finish scars on either side of the original brass nut. For a 40 year-old Gibson electric this V has proved to be an impressive survivor.
Original case.
