This Rickenbacker Model 59 was made in 1937 or very early 1938. It’s made of steel and it has an ivory-colored crinkle paint job. It’s in excellent structural and cosmetic condition. (The nameplate on the headstock has the early Rickenbacher spelling.) This was Rickenabacker’s student model guitar at the time but while the body is a simpler design than the Bakelite models, it still has the same 1930s horseshoe pickup with the wide, 1 ½” magnet. Rather than chrome plating, it has a black crinkle paint. This is a sweet-sounding steel guitar with the round, fat tone that early Rickenbackers are famed for. Includes a chipboard case in similar clean condition.
