Details
The cool difference with this Custom Shop Cimarron Red Esquire is the reversed pickup and upside-down control panel. While the change in tone is subtle, the pickup angle does give you a tighter tone with more crunch from the wound strings and a somewhat fatter tone from the trebles. Reversing the control plate puts the volume knob within quick reach of your pinkie, allowing easy volume swells and cuts. The maple neck on this example has some nice figure and that '57 rounded-V profile that gives the palm of your left hand something to anchor against.
Nice comfy shoulder-saving weight of barely over 6 lbs! All the goodies Fender included are in the case, including COA, heavy leather strap, bridge cover, etc. A very cool variation of Leo Fender's first Spanish electric model, with changes that do make a difference in both playability and tone.
