This Ted Megas 7-string was a special order. Although it's a big guitar it's more playable than many 7-string models because of the 25 inch string scale. Of course there's more than one way to tune those 7 strings , but if you make the 7th string a lower bass note the big 18 inch body is an advantage as it helps give that low note a fuller tone There are no cracks or actual damage but this did get played quite a lot and there's various little nicks and dings to the top plus some slight lacquer checking. If you check photos 10 & 11 you'll see that there's an odd semi-circular scrape to lacquer on the top, on the treble side, below the bridge (it almost looks like the upper part of a question mark). The back, sides, and neck have less finish wear than the top, and the fret wear is minimal as the player had a light touch. Neck angle and string action are both excellent. Note that it comes with a special Calton case (from the Calgary era), and the mother-of-pearl nut is a nice touch. It doesn't appear that any parts of this Megas were ever changed, not even a strap button was added as the player was always seated.
