Details
This Enoch Tradesman was made in 2013 and it’s in excellent lightly played condition. The frets are in excellent shape. This banjo is very close in construction and appearance to the basic banjos that were produced in large numbers in the 1880's. The neck, heel, dowel stick and rim thickness are just like many of those old timers as is the thin, 'ebonized' shell and paddle peghead. It does have geared pegs however, something anybody who has ever tried to tune a friction peg instrument will appreciate. It's got a scooped walnut neck and ebony fingerboard and a Renaissance head. The sound is brighter than you might think given its lightness and short 25 3/8" scale. The action measures just a hair under ⅛” at the 12th fret, which is perfect for someone with a robust frailing technique, but it might be a touch high for someone with a light touch. Includes a padded gig bag.
