Sat, July 28, 2018
11:00 am
-12:15 pm

| $40

It’s easier to learn new songs, pop, rock, jazz, country or whatever, if you understand progressions. Yes, there is sense to it all and Fred will explain chord movement and song structure, the circle of 5ths, the 12-bar blues, scale-wise patterns and more! We’ll look at lots of songs, including your suggestions, and see how they work.

Fred Sokolow is best known as the author of over one-hundred instructional books and DVDs for guitar, banjo, Dobro, mandolin, lap steel and ukulele. Fred has long been a well-known West Coast multi-string performer and recording artist, particularly on the acoustic music scene. The diverse musical genres covered in his books and DVDs, along with several bluegrass, jazz and rock CDs he has released, demonstrate his mastery of many musical styles. Whether he’s playing Delta bottleneck blues, bluegrass or old-time banjo, 30s swing guitar or screaming rock solos, he does it with authenticity and passion. His books are published by all the major music print publishers including Hal Leonard, Warner Brothers, Mel Bay and others. His Fretboard Roadmaps series is an international best-seller.
