Please Consider a Donation to the Heroes’ Voices Guitar Corps Program this Veterans Day
Rick Harrell, center, the Director of Heroes’ Voices
We are proud to work with Heroes’ Voices, a charity that supplies free guitars and free guitar lessons to veterans via their Guitar Corps program. (Heroes’ Voices also offers Poetry and Singing workshops.) We know music can bring much needed joy and solace into your life so we’re trying to make sure that any vet in the program who needs a fully functioning guitar gets one, free of charge. Over the years, thanks to your generous donations, we’ve worked on hundreds of guitars for the program. Remember, the vets get to keep the guitars so we are always looking for more.
If you have a spare guitar that isn’t being used, and if you can bring it to Gryphon in Palo Alto, please consider giving your instrument a worthy new life helping veterans add music to their unique stories and dreams. We’re not asking for vintage Martins or recent Taylors, we just want acoustic guitars, either steel string or nylon string, that our repair crew can set-up and restring to make them ready for a new musical journey. If you have an electric guitar, banjo, mandolin or ukulele you’d like to donate, please bring them along. If you don’t have an instrument to pass along, please consider a monetary donation directly to Heroes’ Voices.
