Details
Here's a very clean Martin 12-string that's closing in on its 50th birthday. Original finish and parts (except for the pickguard), looks like the only repair has been a neck reset and replacing the original black acetate pickguard with a new replacement Martin 'guard (those black acetate '70s pick guards have a nasty habit of shrinking and curling up). There's a slight and shallow crack in the top above the pickguard, which was probably caused by the original pulling the spruce as it shrunk. There are chips to the finish on the heel of the neck (see photo) from when the neck was removed from the body to reset it. Except for the crease in the finish on the top (also above the pickguard) the lacquer on this Martin is remarkably free from playing wear. Judging by the frets, which are also original, it looks like it just never got played much. The case included is a Martin Vintage-Series black hardshell, a huge step up from the blue thermoplastic case that came with it way back when.
