{"product_id":"2001-sargent-electric-sitar-used-26237","title":"2001 Sargent Electric Sitar - Used","description":"Now here’s something you don’t see every day: an electric sitar with a built-in battery powered amp that has been made from a salvaged dinette table top. This wild guitar was built in 2001 by Ronnie Sargent, a luthier who was based in Oakland, California. (He later moved to Texas.) For all it’s cosmetic weirdness, it’s a well crafted instrument that plays well and sounds like, well, an electric sitar. It’s in excellent structural and cosmetic condition with just a hint of fret wear. Before setting out on his own, Sargent worked for the reconstituted Danelectro company in the 1990s and helped design some of their effects pedals. This instrument has a bit of Danelectro vibe, but it’s definitely its own thing.
