2006 Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt ( J. English) Jeff Beck Esquire Solid Body Electric Guitar Used
We’ve been lucky enough to have had a number of Fender’s Masterbuilt guitars come through the shop, and we have been impressed with all of them. This particular beauty, though, just might be our favorite. All it takes is one glance to see it’s a replica of Jeff Beck’s 1954 Esquire, the one he played during his tenure with the Yardbirds in the 1960s. This example was crafted in 2006 by John English, who sadly passed away in 2007. It accurately duplicates the original guitar's light weight, unusual body contours and the distinctive network of dings, scuffs, scrapes and scratches. It has a soft V-shaped '57 one-piece maple neck, a chipped black pickguard and brass bridge saddles. (Beck replaced the original steel saddles soon after buying the guitar from its original owner, the Walker Brothers guitarist John Maus). It’s fitted with a hand wound single-coil bridge pickup. The guitar comes with the original flight case, a replica 1960s-style gig bag, Custom Shop certificate, and Master Builder signature.
