2014 Schenk GK Concert Windwalker Steel String Acoustic Used
A well-crafted example of what has become the standard design for contemporary fingerstyle guitars. This Schenk "Concert Windwalker" is a comfy 15 inches across at the bridge, so roughly the size of an OM but with the more round lower bout of a small jumbo. Rod Schenk, who works solo from an expertly outfitted shop in Washington state, has certainly done his homework and the result is a clean, uncluttered design and a very stable but highly responsive acoustic guitar. It's hard to describe sound, but this has the balanced tone and long sustain that fingerstyle players crave. It's in almost perfect condition, with the exception of a couple of dings to the top that look suspiciously like "case bite" (from a latch hitting the top when the lid closes unexpectedly) It has been played, as evidenced by the light fret wear you see in photo 10, but this was part of a large collection of guitars which probably explains why it didn't see more playing hours than it did. Of course it isn't cheap, but then a new one would set you back about 8 grand.....
