2016 Santa Cruz Guitar Co. FS Fingerstyle Steel String Acoustic Guitar Used
When introduced in the 1980s, the Santa Cruz FS was essentially one of the first of the new breed of finger style steel-string guitars. By the early-1990s there were a host of guitars sharing similar features: cutaway body on a small jumbo body shape, wood binding, not much taper to the fingerboard from nut to upper frets, etc. This example from 2016 isn't much different from FS models made 30+ years ago but it does have Gotoh 510 tuners (instead of Schallers). There are only a few slight signs of wear to the top, which is typical as cedar is softer than spruce and bruises more easily. Only very light fret wear, no cracks or repairs and original throughout. A delight to play as cedar responds to the lightest touch and the fingerboard with a more consistent width means chord positions up the neck feel much the same as in lower positions. Great for open tunings, or using a capo way up the neck. Original case. These cost over $8,000 new, btw, and it's a long wait to get one.
