Details
As you probably know by now, the Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. And you also probably know that the Silver Sky was introduced in 2018. So what’s with the 2017 date? It turns out this particular guitar is a prototype that was made a year before the official release date. We’ve examined this guitar carefully and it appears to be identical to the production models. The headstock shape is inspired by the classic 3-on-a-side PRS silhouette. The neck shape was modeled after 1963/1964 vintage instruments, and the fretboard has a 7.25” radius. The 635JM single-coil pickups are very round and full, with a chiming musical high end. This guitar is in excellent structural and cosmetic condition. There is a light amount of fret wear and just a few very minor signs of having been played. Includes the original hardshell case and vibrato bar.
