The WL-14 Scissortail is one of our favorite Waterloo models. It was inspired by the the Kalamazoo Oriole line of guitars which were maple with a natural finish and a bird decal on the headstock. Collings revived the use of blond maple, but instead chose the image of a Scissortail flycatcher on the headstock (a bird also known as the "Texas bird of paradise" but we don't know why). Like other Waterloo models, this one sounds way better than the original Kalamazoo it’s based on, and the bird on the headstock has more regional class. This example was built in 2017 and it’s in very clean structural and cosmetic condition. This guitar has X-bracing, an adjustable truss rod and a V-shaped neck. The original case is equally clean.
