A great jazz guitar that's essentially in like-new condition. The advantage to the single pickup in neck position layout is that when combined with the solid spruce top and solid maple back, you get the comfort of a thin hollowbody but the realistic acoustic tone of a serious archtop guitar. In fact lots of deeper-bodied acoustic archtops deliver less volume than this Eastman. This response is partly due to the pickup being tucked up at the end of fingerboard, leaving the soundboard without excess weight muting its response. Whether practicing at home on an acoustic archtop, or plugged in for those smooth Joe Pass neck-pickup tones, this Eastman covers a lot of jazz guitar options.
