It was rescued from a store that displayed in a room without a proper humidifier, and a tight dryness crack in the top (the darker line near the center seam) was the result. The crack was repaired here at Gryphon and small nicely beveled spruce cleats reinforce it. It's not a new guitar but it's also not one that's ever really been played. Somebody should correct that, as it sounds great, has smooth easy action, and is a joy to play.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThe Modern Deluxe series combines Martin’s legacy of old world craftsmanship with some impressive contemporary features. This guitar has scalloped, forward-shifted x-bracing and the body is constructed using natural protein glue, both features Martin used during the 1930s, the era when the modern flattop guitar was created and refined.
