Ths Kalamazoo KEH (Kalamazoo Electric Hawaiian) was made by Gibson around 1947. Although it was a budget model like other Kalamazoo branded instruments, it’s well-made and sounds very good. Overall, this lap steel is in fine cosmetic and structural condition. The pickup looks like it’s a P-90 style with non-adjustable pole pieces. It’s set up with a volume and a tone control, which was the common prewar setup on KEH models, but less common on this style in the late 1940s. It’s possible the tone control was added. The knobs are replacements. The jack plate has also been replaced and it looks like the original painted cover is missing. Included a padded gig bag.
