c. 1964 Tokyo Sound Company General Electric Solid Body Electric Used
This guitar was made by the Tokyo Sound Company, the parent company of Guyatone. It was most likely made around 1964 and it was built for General Electric. (We had no idea they ever sold guitars.) It doesn’t have a model number but it’s basically a Guyatone LG-55, which is a two pickup guitar with two volume controls, a master tone and on-off rocker switches for each single coil pickup. This guitar is in fine structural condition and pretty good cosmetic condition, with a number of minor scuffs and scratches here and there. The frets are fairly low and flat but they are playable. This guitar was built before Japanese builders started using truss rods so the neck is quite beefy. Includes the original hardshell case, which is a scarce item these days.
