Details
This Red Valley EM Mandolin was crafted by James Wilson in his workshop in Boise, Idaho. The top is sitka spruce and the back and sides are maple. The neck is mahogany and the fretboard is ebony. The EM has a satin finish and a very simple appearance but the robust tone more than makes up for the lack of fanciness. This mandolin is inspired by flattop mandolins like the Gibson Army Navy models from around 1917 and the later Flatiron models from the 1980s Its rich tone and exceptional volume make it a great choice for discerning mandolin players looking for something from outside the bluegrass tradition.
