We are very excited to announce the return of Peter Case’s Songwriter Workshop on Saturday, May 23. In this one-day workshop, Peter offers secrets of the craft that will have you immediately writing more powerful and interesting songs. The atmosphere is a fun, comfortable, and at times humorous environment. Peter’s workshop will focus equally on lyrics and music, and on the art of coming up with fresh ideas. Topics will include “thinking like a genius” and “putting what you love directly into your songs.”

These days, Peter Case is best known for his solo acoustic performances, his excellent guitar playing and his soulful songwriting. But if you were young in the 1970s you may recall his two bands The Nerves and The Plimsouls, both of which played melodic power pop songs with punk rock energy. In 1986 he released Peter Case, a self-titled LP that established his reputation as a songwriter of rare talent. Peter Case has an encyclopedic knowledge of the best songs of the past century and in this workshop he will be using the work of masters like Bob Dylan and the Beatles, along with his own compositions, to teach the basic of elements of crafting a song. Previous attendees have been universally positive about this class and at least a couple of them have signed up to take it again. The last time we offered this class it sold out so if you are interested in attending, you should consider signing up early.
