Waterloo WL-14 Scissortail
Drawing its name from the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher — a bird species common to the Central Texas Hill Country — the Waterloo WL-14 Scissortail is a maple guitar that pays homage to the “Oriole” guitars produced by Kalamazoo between 1940 and 1942. The Scissortail brings excellent projection and focus to the flagship WL-14 series while retaining its woody, characteristic tone. A natural finish coupled with distinctive tortoise-style binding sets this instrument apart from other WL-14 models, along with an original Scissortail decal applied to the headstock in true-to-era fashion. This Waterloo model is a staff favorite and you can even find one in the personal collection of one of our repair crew.
