This lovely banjo is fitted with a Dobson-style tone ring, the hottest thing going in the banjo world of the 1880s, and a style that has found favor with contemporary clawhammer players looking for a tone that balances a woody, mellow timbre with clarity. Modern touches include an adjustable truss rod and modern planetary tuning machines. The 12” shell is crafted from violin-grade maple and the maple neck is topped with a figured ebony neck with a frailing scoop.
