Details
This is a fine contemporary example of the smaller-bodied guitar that helped spark the “OM revolution” some thirty years ago, at a time when dreadnoughts still dominated the acoustic landscape, even among many fingerstyle players. Santa Cruz Guitar Co. co-founder Richard Hoover was at the center of that shift, and the OM quickly became a cornerstone of the SCGC lineup. This 2024 OM features a Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, paired with Indian rosewood back and sides. The result is a lively, responsive instrument with excellent clarity, strong headroom, and a surprisingly full bass response for its size. The modified V neck profile feels traditional without being bulky, and details like the herringbone rosette, grained ivoroid binding, and Waverly tuners give it a timeless aesthetic. This guitar is in excellent condition with virtually no playwear and no fretwear. Finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, this is a refined, versatile OM that reflects Santa Cruz’s long-standing approach to thoughtful, player-focused design. Comes with its original case.
