Details
One of the cleanest and most original early D-41 models Gryphon has offered in years. This was purchased locally when new, and spent the last half-century in the Palo Alto area and in near-perfect storage conditions. It did get played, you can see some light wear to the frets, but the original owner had a light touch and has always been extremely careful with his instruments. The original lacquer has settled nicely into the pores of the wood, giving the finish a lovely patina, and as a result of being strung up for all those years it has a rich, rosewood Martin Dreadnought tone. The pearl bordering and neck inlays sparkle and gleam, this D-41 is from long before the use of laminated abalone bordering (Abalam). Also, this D-41 just a had neck reset from Gryphon's own Brian Michael!
Comes with the original blue Martin hardshell case, which is also in near-perfect condition (however the case does leave the finish slightly fogged, but this light haze wipes off easily)
