Details
This Flatiron model changed the mandolin landscape when it was introduced in the late 1970s. Sturdy and relatively easy to build, this model also delivered excellent tone and volume for a wide variety of musical styles and proved that inexpensive fretted instruments didn't have to be imports. This 1SH is in great condition and appears to be all original throughout. The lack of fret wear and pick or finger scratches suggests the original owner just never played it much. The neck is quite straight and string action is low so it's easy to play. The 1SH is a scarce variant of the 1N that has a lightly shaded finish instead of the more usual natural, or blond, finish.
