With the 290, Collings upgraded the classic '59/'60 Gibson Les Paul Special, but while it's now a contemporary electric guitar key elements remain: full access to all 22 frets and shoulder-easing light weight. This example boasts the typical Collings fit and finish with a TV Yellow stain and all-lacquer finish. It has very light fret wear and just a few surface scuffs here and there. There is a reddish stain in the finish near the strap button on the neck that most likely came from the case lining. The original case is in similar clean condition.
