Beard’s Vintage R has a body shape inspired by the classic resonator guitar of the 1930s. Like those old guitars, the Vintage R has laminated wood in the top back and sides, which makes a rigid sound chamber that lets the hand-spun spider cone do all the work. This example was made in 2013 in Beard’s Hagerstown, Maryland workshop and it has an attractive dark sunburst gloss finish over the Finnish birch veneers. The round neck is made from mahogany and is topped with an ebony fretboard. This guitar is in excellent, light played condition. The frets show just a little wear. The Vintage R has an open soundwell body design which produces a growling powerful bass and clear bright treble sound that is perfect for traditional playing styles.
