This Kamaka HF-3 tenor ukulele was made in 2016, Kamaka’s 100th anniversary, and it has the special headstock inlay commemorating the milestone they only used that year. Despite being 10 years old, this example good almost pass for new. The finish has settled nicely into the koa grain, giving the surface a subtle patina.
The HF-3 tenor, in all its variations, is our best-selling Kamaka ukulele, hands down. We think this model's versatility is part of the reason. It sounds great with the traditional "my dog has fleas" tuning but it also works well with the Low G tuning, as well. Thanks to the longer scale, the frets on a tenor uke are a little further apart, so complex chords are easier to finger as there's more room, making tenor uke the most popular switch for guitar players. It's simple, if you play any fretted instrument, or if you're just starting to, you'll find a use for a fine-sounding tenor like this one. The Kamaka tenor is the does-anything-and-does-it-well ukulele. Includes the original hardshell case, which is in equally clean condition.
