Details
We love to see contemporary guitarmakers who aren't afraid to be different, especially when the differences they bring to the craft are from a field in which they've already excelled. Bob Thompson's Zipper recurve bows are highly respected by the archery community, and their status tells us this guy knows a lot about wood and how to put it to use when there is tension involved. The light top bracing on this cutaway OM's Adirondack top is laminated, and he's used other tweaks you don't notice until you look inside the soundhole. Thompson didn't try to send an "I'm different!" message through a different body or headstock shape, or a radical-looking bridge, so this is a quite conventional guitar in terms of its appearance. It's highly playable, with a nicely balanced tone and plenty of volume. It shows only very light fret wear and almost no playing wear to the surface.
We hope you'll swing by our shop and give this one a try.
