Details
The first run of Fender’s American Professional Series reimagined the long-running Standard line, blending vintage features people know and love with the modern refinements players have come to love over the years. As you can see from the photos, this guitar has had a few practical upgrades. The B5 Bigsby and Mastery bridge were expertly installed, and both pickups have been swapped out for Curtis Novak pickups. The neck pickup is a Novak’s GT-V, modeled after a vintage Guyatone gold foil, which is full-sounding, slightly microphonic, with a ton of clarity. The bridge pickup is Novak’s Tele-Fat, offering a beefier, clearer take on a traditional Tele bridge sound with just the right amount of twang. These thoughtful upgrades really give this guitar its own character and style, and on top of that, it sounds and feels great. If you’re after a unique Tele with a bunch of mojo, we’d say that this is a very strong candidate. It comes with its original Fender Deluxe Molded hardshell case.
