Details
The Eastman MD505CC/TV was made in 2024 and it's in excellent lightly used condition. The frets show almost no wear and there are only a few minor signs of having been played. Like all of Eastman’s A-style mandolins, the MD505CC/TV has a solid, hand carved spruce top with solid, hand carved maple back. It has a Truetone Vintage Gloss finish, which has the look and feel of a thin varnish. This mandolin does not have binding, instead Eastman has built it with rounded edges, the CC or Contoured Comfort in the model code. Many players find the softly curved edge doesn’t dig into your picking arm as much as an instrument made with binding does. The ebony fretboard is inlaid with pearl blocks and has a radius. The MD505CC/TV has the percussive bark that bluegrass demands when you dig in hard, but if you back off a bit, it works well for Celtic styles, old-time string band music, jazz and just about any style you can think of. Includes a well padded gig bag.
