Details
If you know only one significant year in all of electric guitars, it’s most likely a 1959 Les Paul. There have been plenty of reissues of these highly coveted instruments throughout the years, but the guitars coming out of Gibson’s Custom Shop the last few years have been some of the most faithful recreations out there. The quality of materials on these 1959 Reissues, especially the highly figured maple top, really emphasize what makes these models the holy grail of electric guitars. This example is a few years old and very clean. There’s a bit of light wear, but you have to look closely to find it. The neck is that classic ’59 Les Paul neck is the goldilocks of neck shapes, being not too chunky and not too thin. The pickups were swapped out to Pete Flynn’s unpotted, AlNiCo “Patent Applied For” humbuckers, which truly deliver an authentic PAF-style sound in every position. If you’re after a resonant, great-playing, lightweight, and great-looking Les Paul, this checks all the boxes. It includes the original Gibson hardshell case, COA, and case candy.
