Details
One of the nicest early Style 1 Martin ukes we've had, with just one short hairline crack in the upper treble-side bout and with its original shellac varnish finish and original wood friction pegs. Dating Martin ukes from this period is not an exact science, since they were not given serial numbers, but we know it's from before 1926 (the year Martin added back binding) and after 1921 (when neck inlays were changed). We think the 1925 date is conservative, the dark stain on the mahogany suggests it's probably earlier. Nice bubbly tone and incredibly light weight.
