This new I35 LC Vintage done in Aged Jet Black is quite the looker. The “LC” Vintage models are laminate construction, much like a traditional ES semi-hollow guitar, which are very feedback resistant. These guitars have a slightly smaller body than those traditional ES guitars as well, making them extremely light and comfortable. Each LC model's top and back is laminated in-house at the Collings workshop in Austin, and the grain direction and thickness of the layers is the result of much research by the late Bill Collings. The finish on these is done in multiple thin coats of nitrocellulose lacquer and subtly aged with some light finish checking. The finish in conjunction with the Throbak ESG-102B humbucking pickups, Luxe Bumblebee capacitors, and aged hardware, are what give the I35 LC Vintage its “Vintage” designation. These are an all-around superb instrument, with this one being no exception. It is lightweight, resonant, feels great in the hand, and looks fantastic. With the expert fit and finish and meticulous craftsmanship, this guitar really exemplifies what Collings is all about. It comes with a hardshell case.
