Details
Handmade by Pisgah Banjo Company in North Carolina, the Rambler Special is a gorgeous open-back banjo that is inspired by, but not beholden to, the long-storied tradition of American Banjo craftsmanship. Taking design cues from the most celebrated old-time banjos from the 19th and 20th centuries, Pisgah combines vintage-styled construction with modern quality of life features, perfectly suited for players looking to find an easy-to-play authentic-sounding instrument. The short scale length (25 1/2”) will feel familiar to most guitarists as it is the standard scale length for most Fenders and Martins. This version, with the 11” head, aged copper shell, and dobson tone ring, delivers a full warm tone with plenty of projection; the dobson tone ring, in particular, adds a pleasant amount of sustain, ultimately resulting in a sound that is complex, yet articulate. Pisgah, a company that is big on sustainability and ethical stewardship of the land, only uses locally sourced Appalachian hardwoods for their instruments - the cherry neck is but one such example of a stunning, domestically sourced tonewood!
